Job Duties & Responsibilities:


You will be responsible for all aspects of reservoir engineering, providing both technical and potentially team leadership within a multi-disciplinary integrated team. Work as an individual contributor will also be required, combined with the ability to guide and advise less experience reservoir engineers and support colleagues from different disciplines.




  • Lead Project Teams so that results are delivered on time and on budget while maintaining RDS reputation



  • Participate in Peer Reviews



  • Development of staff, particularly reservoir engineers, through active mentoring and identification of areas for further development (projects and training)



  • Support growth of London Office by continued fostering of relationships internally and externally



  • Support Manager in identifying and planning of strategic areas for future growth





Provide advice and support within multidisciplinary teams with the view of optimising the production / recovery from existing fields and / or to mature new finds in to a field development, you will have exposure to the following:



  • Well test and decline curve analysis
  • Material balance modelling
  • Dynamic reservoir modelling
  • Production forecasting
  • Integrated asset modelling
  • Analysis of PVT and SCAL data
  • Reservoir management
  • Offshore operations
  • Asset Evaluation
  • Reserves estimation


Conduct numerical modelling, subsurface studies and exploitation planning as required and according to job assignments.


Generate production forecasts using reservoir simulation, production analysis and other reservoir engineering techniques.



Analyze subsurface and surface field data to obtain key reservoir/well performance parameters.



Lead Reservoir Engineers in preparing field development plans and related studies such as reservoir simulation for new and existing projects as required.



Ensure project work plans are created and executed effectively and in line with company policy and are revised as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.



Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope as necessary.


Be accountable for the technical integrity and quality of work delivered through


participation in:





  • Contract Review Meetings



  • Operations Meetings



  • contract review stage of projects or Reviews.




Where leading a project ensure a review of deliverables prepared by team is carried out before passing to client. Deliver and enforce high project management standards and encourage others to do likewise. Ensure exposure and risks on projects are minimised.



Enable efficient and effective commercial business delivery through:





  • Working directly with the client to assess their needs and devise olutions that can be implemented successfully for them.



  • In particular contribute to opportunity review, screening and selection as part of ongoing business activity.



  • Building and implementing local business development strategies for clients as required.



  • Careful and efficient project and client relationship management which results in no surprises for the client or RDS so we continue to access repeat business with the client.



  • Contribute to the development of RDS business in the UK and internationally.



  • Contribute to maintaining and raiseing the profile of RDS as required and access new business opportunities through active networking with both existing contacts and potential new clients.



  • Ensure that technical mentoring, coaching and support of less experienced Reservoir Engineering staff is performed consistently to the high standard expected.



  • Lead staff effectively as required by allocating decision making authority and task responsibilities to appropriate individuals and by utilizing staff time, skills and potential effectively.



  • Assist in staff recruitment through the interviewing process and providing selection support.





Required Skills:





  • Able to demonstrate a level of technical competence in a Reservoir Engineering or area assignment



  • Understanding of more than one functional or area category



  • Can demonstrate industry recognition for technical abilities



  • Track record of innovation & ingenuity in solving difficult problems



  • Ability to direct, mentor and support younger professionals



  • Reservoir Engineering (fundamentals, industry best practices and new trends/development)



  • Strong, broad ranging discipline knowledge

  • Project management and operational experience



  • Simulation modeling in more than one software program



  • MBAL, Prosper, Welltest analysis



  • Sound analytical skills

Education & Experience:









Bachelor's Degree in Science or Petroleum Engineering or equivalent degree with 15+ years of experience. At least two years in a leading/delivery of projects. Previous experience working with Operator, Service Company or Consultancy.
